Since its inception in the mainstream, Artificial Intelligence has created more confusion, panic and concerns. However, when we see AI's fundamental concept and goal, we understand it is another technology developed for our benefit. But just like any other technology, the masses fail to understand its use in the preliminary adaptation stage. However, when it comes to AI, the tension is very high, or maybe it's because AI is the biggest invention of the current generation.
As a defence mechanism, we humans resist what we don't understand. This goes the same for Artificial Intelligence. But resisting and avoiding AI use does more damage
than good for us.
The industry is now completely occupied with LLM (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude...) people who are effectively using these LLMs as tools are getting benefits, and the others who remain criticising are the ones who are taking a toll because of them. LLMs are powerful, but total dependence is a risk. It is not good if we just prompt LLM "Generate a React e-commerce website", though the SOTA (State of the Art) models will give a good response, it will not do the user any benefit if he doesn't understand any line of it, and in fact, using LLMs like this will affect our ability of logical reasoning. Instead, we should take the LLM's response and try to make it more structured, implement our own logic and features on top of the response. In my opinion, with the help of LLMs and current tools. We all have a chance to become great multitaskers. Imagine an Octopus, it has 8 hands, and with each hand it can complete a task simultaneously. Similarly, with the help of these LLMs and Agentic tools, we can complete a task more efficiently and swiftly compared to the pre-AI era. For example, if you want to build a full-stack web app, first you will plan the structure and UI. Then you start building the frontend, then the backend. This process used to take several months to complete. But, now after the Ideation, you can prompt "Give me react landing page" then you get the basic code, you can now enhance and bring down the code to align your idea. After iterating on this process, we have a web app in a matter of days. A task that used to take several months can now be done in days. This is the power of LLMs; they do all the time, taking tasks, and we do all the problem-solving and thinking.
It is clear that the obstacle of time constraints is slowly going away, and now it is all about our thinking and problem-solving skills.
To all the pessimists. Yes, AI has its drawbacks; the tech is still in development, and we don't know what course it will take. But worrying about the extreme negatives, which are still far from reality, only does us bad. So, we should understand and use it for our benefit.
Remember, AI is only going to advance. So, if you fear the current stage. This is the worst AI is going to be.
So, we should do what we are good at doing as humans: ADAPT.
